Description
Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Parent Child Interaction Therapy - also known as PCIT - is an evidence-based treatment program designed for caregivers and their young children (2 to 9 years old) who are experiencing social, behavioral, and/or emotional difficulties.
PCIT is conducted through "coaching" sessions during which you and your child play in your home while the therapist observes you interact with your child through a virtual session. You wear a "bug-in-the-ear" device through which the therapist provides in-the-moment coaching on skills you are learning to manage your child's behavior.
PCIT is implemented in two phases, and typically lasts 12-20 sessions, although is not time dependent. Each session is 50 minutes long. Individual sessions are $150.
